Time of Use Tariff Explorer

Use this form to calculate how much you would pay using a time-of-use based tariff schedule, and compare that to the rate you already pay. Your usage/meter data can be uploaded or pulled directly from SolarNetwork based on a node, source, and datum property you choose.

Usage/meter data

Provide a spreadsheet file with your energy usage data, in CSV or Excel format.

Fill in your rate details, which can usually be found on your utility bill.

Optionally, add any number of "fixed" tariffs, such as a daily charge.

Next, provide a time-of-use schedule, in the form of a spreadsheet-friendly CSV file. You can download an example schedule from the Example Schedules menu.

Finally, click the Calculate button to calcualte the time of use tariff based on the data you have provided.

Overall comparison

The following table compares the flat rate you provided to the total time-of-use rate over the same period. The cost difference between the two methods is also shown. A negative difference means the time-of-use rate ends up costing less than the flat rate.

Time of use breakdown

The following table shows your usage, broken down according to the time-of-use schedule you uploaded. You can see how many units you used and how much this would cost accoding to the schedule. The Total Rate shows the flat rate you would need pay in order for your total cost to work out the same.
