Area chart

An area chart to show power over time for one or more groups of data streams stacked together. The chart supports a traditional mode and a wiggle mode that can help visualize the relative changes of many data streams.

This is useful for answering questions like:

• How can I quickly understand when I am using or generating power?

Area overlap chart

An area chart to show power over time for one or more groups of data streams. All groups share a common y-axis and are presented layered on top of each other.

This is useful for answering questions like:

• How much power are my solar panels producing compared to how much power my house is consuming?

Area I/O chart

An area chart to show energy per hour, day, or month for two groups of data streams. It is similar to the area chart except that one group is shown as negative values on the y-axis, and the difference between the groups can be shown as a line on top.

This is useful for answering questions like:

• When over the past month did my solar panels produce more power than my house consumed?

Bar overlap chart

A bar chart to show energy per hour, day, or month for one or more groups of data streams. All groups share a common y-axis and are presented layered on top of each other. For a single group this is useful for answering questions like:

• How much energy have my solar panels produced each day over the past month?
• How much energy has my house consumed each hour over the past week?

For multiple groups this is useful for answering questions like:

• How much energy has my house consumed compared to how much energy my solar panels produced each day over the past month?

Bar I/O chart

A bar chart to show energy per hour, day, or month for two groups of data streams. It is similar to the bar overlap chart except that one group is shown as negative values on the y-axis, and the difference between the groups can be shown as a line on top of the bars.

This is useful for answering questions like:

• When over the past month did my solar panels produce more power than my house consumed?

Counter

A utility for efficiently calculating an aggregate sum over time for a data stream. This is useful for answering questions like:

• How many kW of energy have my solar panels produced over their entire life?

Basic line chart

A line chart that shows data streams over time. This is useful for showing arbitrary data streams in a simple, easy to understand way.

Line seasonal day-of-week I/O chart

A line chart that groups two sets of data streams by Gregorian calendar days of the week, per quarterly year season. One group is shown as positive values on the y-axis and the other as negative values. This is useful for answering questions like:

• How much energy do I consume on average each day of the week?
• How does my weekday energy use compare between summer and winter?

Line seasonal hour-of-day I/O chart

A line chart that groups two sets of data streams by hours of the day, per quarterly year season. One group is shown as positive values on the y-axis and the other as negative values. This is useful for answering questions like:

• On a typical day, when do I consume the most energy?
• On a typical day, when are my solar panels producing the most energy?
• How does my daily energy use compare between summer and winter?

Pie chart

A pie chart to show accumulated energy over time for one or more groups of data streams.

This is useful for answering questions like:

• What percentage of my overall energy use was produced by my solar panels?
